A selection of Games Cinematics and cut scenes
Motion Designer, SPOV
Below is a montage of previous design and animation work undertaken at SPOV. I was lucky enough to work on several big franchise computer games - including Call of Duty and Titanfall. Working closely with the talented team at SPOV I contributed several shots for each game, involving design and animation for load movies, cut scenes and cinematics.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2
Design & animation - loading screens and game intro sequence
Black Ops II is the first game in the series to feature futuristic warfare technology. Our job was to plot out, design and animate each load movie between levels - often using game assets - to help explain the story arc and to set up the task for the next level. A mixture of C4D and After Effects. The game was a commercial success; within 24 hours of going on sale it grossed over $500 million.
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
Design & animation - load movies
The game's story features a futuristic setting, set between 2054 and 2061, and follows Jack Mitchell of the United States Marine Corps and his involvement with Atlas, a private military corporation that sells its services to the highest bidder. Our job was to plot out, design and animate each load movie between levels - often using game assets - to help explain the story arc and to set up the task for the next level. Often we used C4D and After Effects to create motion graphics assets that were then given to 3D character animation studio Digic to embed into their master scenes. The game featured actors Troy Baker and Kevin Spacey in lead roles.
Titanfall
Design & animation - opening titles
Titanfall is a first-person shooter game developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts. In Titanfall, players control "Pilots" and their mech-style Titans, and fight in six-on-six matches set in the war-torn outer space colonies of the Frontier. I I worked with the talented team of designers and animators at SPOV to tell the story of leaving Earth, travelling great distances to the outer reaches of the colonies. We used a mixture of C4D and After Effects to create the intro movie that sets up the action to come.
